Parts don’t fit together correctly
The finished product is great and my kids love it but there were multiple parts where we had to cut the boards to get them to fit correctly. When we called customer service they said it was because the wood “swelled” and that our spacing was incorrect. But there were no disclaimers about the wood swelling if left outside (so keep everything inside before it’s put together). I can’t imagine that was actually the problem anyway because only the light colored wood had any issue. The dark was all fine.I will say that BILT app is pretty awesome as far as directions go and the finished product is on point. The structure creeked a lot when my husband was putting it together, but he weighs 250 lbs and it didn’t fall down when he was standing on it to finish the assembly. Overall I think it was a good purchase.

100% Satisfied Customer
We are extremely happy with this purchase, and most importantly the kids love it! We estimate that it took about 35 “human hours” total, which for us was split at about 10 hours for me and 25 hours for my husband. It was fun to build, I would say anyone who can read a tape measure and lift 50 pounds would qualify for this project. There are definitely times where you need two pairs of hands. The directions are great; highly recommend using the Built App so you can rotate the pieces in 3D and make sure you have all the pre-drilled holes facing the correct direction. We used a cordless impact driver to tighten most of the bolts and lag screws. I honestly think it would be worth buying an impact driver for this build if you don’t already have one. The lag screws drain a typical cordless drill battery very quickly. You’ll need the typical cordless drill handy for all the small screws to attach the paneling. We came up short on a few screws and we seem to have been shorted 2 of the ground stakes. However, a quick phone call to Backyard Discovery and the parts are on their way via fedex. They were very kind on the phone and easy to work with.If you are up for the project, this is an awesome play set!

Worth the Work
It took my husband two and a half full days to assemble by himself. The instructions were very clear and our kids love it! Would recommend!

Great swing set for kids but comes in a zillion pieces
My grandkids love it I would say for under 12 years old not super sturdy for a heavy weights for older kids it comes in a zillion pieces and you literally have to put everything together piece by piece including the round slide found it best to sort everything first and put screws and bolts in paper cups labeled made things go so much faster and easier because there’s a lot of pieces took three people two and a half days

A lot of work, but worth it!
This set is worth every penny!! My best advice is to spend the time to unbox it in your garage and organize all of the parts by step number ahead of time (and put all of the hardware by step in little baggies). This makes it go SO much faster and is just less of a headache overall. Our son is almost 2.5 so this is the perfect set for him to grow into. Very pleased with the overall quality.

Great play set
This is a really cool play set at a great price. My daughter loves it. I luckily had a professional in the family who helped me put it together otherwise there is no way I could have ever figured it out. But it was well worth it when it was finished

Save Your Money Buy a Rainbow
I will start by saying I gave this product 3 stars because they do deliver what they say. A flat pack play set with all of the parts. However that the best I can say about it.To start let’s begin with the assembly time. There’s some discrepancy between the printed instructions and the app one says 24hrs the other says 30hrs. Either way they did not lie it’s going to take you damn near a full time jobs worth of work to put this thing together. I say this as a skilled carpenter aka I get paid to build stuff for a living. I bought this thinking Id save time on the design side and money as I tend to over build things and the price of lumber is through the roof right now. However if you don’t already have an impact driver and a drill at a bare minimum, just pay for assembly. You’ll spend more money on a decent set of those two items alone let alone the other things you’ll really need and the time.I will second what someone else has said. Do not use the cheap screws they send with the set go ahead and buy a 5lb box of 1 1/4” and 2 1/2” exterior screws. You’ll be much happier. On to the quality of the actual set. AllOf the pieces are cut correct and have gone together as planned. Unfortunately they have found the absolute cheapest lumber possibleTo make this out of. This is the softest lumber possible and I expect to see it cracking very shortly. Also the cheap “stain” or paint whatever it is they put on it was already flaking off during assembly I’m scared to see what it will look like in a few months. Finally as you can see in the pictures I’ve attached where the swing beam attaches toThe main structure is the soft wood I described above. I expect this connection to work loose over a very short time and I’ll be finding a way to rebuild it stronger. Also due to the unit being a “flat pack” product. The swing beam is not one solid piece and there’s a small block pieced together with a bracket. Just another weak point.Overall I’m not impressed and wished I would have just bit the bullet and bought a nicer set.

Will be around for years to come!
Took my husband roughly 35 hours to assemble solo. Very strong and sturdy. It came in four boxes, would recommend opening all of the boxes and sorting all of the wood pieces before you begin. Instructions were clear and the structure is very well made. We did not have any issues with missing pieces.

I would not do it again
The wood is way over dried and weak. 1/3 of the way through I was ready to give up. Amazon offered a substantial discount. So I put it together. It’s fine….. I should have just bought one made of real wood. If your time is worthore than twenty bucks an hour….. Steer clear. It took about 30 man hours to put together correctly.

Great playset, a BEAST to put together!
Love the look and play options. Very nice materials. It took about 20 hours to put together. Pieces were missing but the company is sending replacements (I hope!) Overall, a great playset!

Best Dad Decision Ever
Listen up fellow dads. If you’re on the fence with purchasing this product, just do it. The lumber is dry, but the hardware is of much better quality than what comes with most products these days. You better have a week of vacation time saved up because this thing will take you a full week to assemble. The instructions aren’t the most clear in the world. I zigged when I should have zagged once or twice. All of that said, your kids and wife will view you as the greatest dad ever. Lace up those 508’s and get to work! Be prepared though. Momma will see your achievement and want to add another to play on this thing.

Great purchase
I had to pay someone to install since the instructions said it was going to take 2 people and approximately 36 hours, but the assembly app is the best and I could’ve build it! For sturdiness the person that installed it put 2 metal rods and concrete to the swing side to avoid the rocking since my 9 year old who’s about 150 pounds would make it rock. I added the bucket swing since I have a 1 year old. Overall great purchase.

AMAZING purchase. My boys are so happy!
We LOVE our playscape!!! Nothing but great things to say about assembly, looks, and amenities! For anyone looking to buy and put it together themselves, pay close attention to the hole placements in the boards. The instructions are clear and give you the detail you need, but it is very easy to miss which direction the board should be if you are going too fast and not paying close enough attention. Then, you’ll realize a few steps down the line that the holes are on the wrong side or slightly not aligned correctly. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is to make the steps a little thicker. One of our boards split from stepping on it during assembly since it had a knot in it. We just reinforced steps with thicker boards to avoid that in the future.

Kids love it
I gave this 5 stars across the board, I assembled myself and took me 3 days with help the last day and a half, I used the app and booklet for instruction, the app clarifies any uncertain step and also has the correct order. The kids love it ! The only thing I wish was a little different is the swing pole, I wish it was longer so the swings are as close to each other. Other than that small concern this is perfect !

Great product, sore after assembly!
This is a great play center, my kids LOVE it! The pieces are very well labeled and the instructions are easy to follow. This is definitely a full weekend project for two handy people. Don’t expect it to come together in a day and expect to have sore muscles! There was one piece that was incorrectly drilled from the factory, but we were able to fix it without much difficulty. Overall, a great product!

Even Better in Person – Great Value
I shopped for a long time before finally settling on this swing set. What I liked most about it is that is has a tube slide, circle rope swing and is multi-level. I had questions about it before purchasing & Backyard Discovery was quick to answer my questions and friendly on the phone. The price for this playscape is a very good value based on my research of other options on the market. After I placed my order, I got a call from the company making sure I was happy with my purchase so far and to see if there was anything they could do to help. They gave me a contact number and a contact rep and reminded me when I had scheduled my delivery. The delivery company was also fantastic, friendly customer service and arrived within the time frame as expected, which I thought was also pretty fast. Once we laid out all the pieces, I was very impressed with the quality of the playscape. The wood is hard and sturdy and doesn’t splinter, nor did it not break under pressure when screwing it together. The plastic pieces are a good color and seem like they will hold up well under bad weather. The best part is, my kids absolutely love this thing. They play on it ALL THE TIME and it has really helped them get excited about going outside instead of being inside on electronics. Overall, I give this playscape and company the highest remarks — the product is better than expected, customer service is outstanding and I am glad I bought a swing set that is going to hold up well in the outdoors.

Strong materials. Great Play Set!
Not much more to say beyond other positive reviews. It’s exactly what I thought and great materials. Strong and sturdy. Our son is 2.5 and so far he “likes that park” haha.It took my husband and BIL 1.5 days to construct. But my husband spent about a full day or so putting as much together as he could before the actual construction.Delivery was great. Only “complaint” I would say was that the tube slide wasn’t originally delivered and I had to hunt it down. But we got it and overall a great delivery experience.

Worth every penny!
I read the reviews ahead of time, so I was mentally prepared for how long this would take and like all the other reviews have mentioned this playset is extremely time consuming. There are 300 steps to complete however, very rarely were the steps difficult. In fact, I was able to do the majority of the building on my own with minimal experience. The BILT app was essential to have and was extremely easy to use. I couldn’t imagine building it without the app. I have seen people mention that they thought the quality of the wood was not great, but I have to disagree. I thought the playset was great quality and very sturdy. I also had no issues with the hardware. It is essential to sort the pieces before you start. I used Post-it notes to label each piece. I couldn’t imagine having to search for each piece when it came time to building. It would’ve added a lot of time and a lot of frustration on building day. I did not organize the hardware, but I should have. I would suggest organizing it numerically. Overall, I think this is a great playset. The kids LOVE it which makes all of the time and money spent on it worth it.

An unnecessarily difficult playset, with low quality wood.
As a former lead technician for a reputable playground company in the N.E. Ohio region, I have assembled countless playsets, from many manufacturers. Now as an independent contractor I have found, without exception, “Backyard Discovery Sky fort w/ tubeslide” is the most poorly engineered set I’ve ever done. The overcomplicated hardware is ludicrous. The sheer number of unnecessarily different sized bolts and screws in hard to read packaging adds an unbelievable amount of time to the job. Why isn’t the hardware more standardized? Why not put the hardware in easy to decipher cardboard backed blister packs?Additionally, the poorly stamped identifying alphanumeric numbers on the wood pieces makes the assembly more difficult. The boxes of wood components are scattered amongst several different boxes, instead of having them packed intuitively in the same box based on the steps of assembly. The HARDWARE is the real problem though! As a contractor who regularly recommends and assembles playsets, I will not recommend a “Backyard Discovery ” playset to any potential customers.*The defects in the photos were present during unpacking.

check the hardware
Great playset for the kiddos. All I have to say aboit it is check your hardware about a month after assembly. We have had it up for about 4 months now and my daughter told me about a loose board in the crows nest. I went to tighten it and found it was snaped in half. As i checked the rest of the screws up there 15 out of the 32 i checked were broken. I replaced them with new screws. I also went around and retighened all the harware across the whole playset and found almost all of the black hex bolts had worked loose.
